Projects this week

I have been working for the past week on baby hats for the program “afghans for Afghans”. They are collecting baby hats and blankets to try to help combat the infant mortality rate in Afghanistan. A member of my SnB group got a few of us started knitting the hats, and she will send them out next week. Here is a photo of my first 2 hats, and the link follows:

Last week I received my STR yarn for this month. I really like the color, and am anxious to knit them up, but have told myself that I will only do this after I have knit up all the baby hats that I can in the next week.

My good friend, Manning, also gave me the most beautiful pink yarn that I need to find the perfect socks to make for. I took the photos outside this afternoon, it was one of the first beautiful sunny days, and the yarn looked so good set on the bright green grass. The color is called Cherry Blossom. It also reminds me of my Magnolia blossoms. They were just starting to come out this spring, and it got very cold and snowed. Normally I have a Magnolia party when it is in full bloom, nothing this year. I guess the socks will have to substitute.
