Sock yarn, Chapter 2

The second installment of my sock club yarn arrived in Friday’s mail.  Not afraid of spoilers, I had already peaked at what it would look like.

This is for the Illuminations (colorwork) club.  Not a combination that I would have picked out, but I am willing to give it a go.  The sock yarn is by jwrayco, colors:  Lerwick Harbor and Aberdeen (a custom overdyed color).

And for the CookieA club, a new type of yarn by Lorna’s Laces.  It is 55% Superwash Merino, 15% Nylon, and 30% Outlast.  Outlast is apparently “a new fiber technology that works with the body’s microclimate to moderate temperature“.  How does it do that?!  Apparently something called phase change technology.  I will have to get my son to read this and explain it to me.  The color is called Boysenberry Jam, made up just for this club, and we are the first to try the yarn.  The colorway is right up my alley.

And, I saw someone post their’s online posed with a jar of Boysenberry jam.  I did one better, posed with homemade Berwyn Jelly, which does become my PB&J.  PB&J is also the name of the pattern that I am choosing to knit with this yarn.
